About the role

We are looking for a dynamic, creative, and highly organized Editorial Assistant to join our fast-paced magazine team. This role is perfect for someone who is passionate about media, storytelling, and digital content creation. The Editorial Assistant will support the editorial team in producing high-quality print and digital content, managing social media platforms, and assisting with day-to-day operations.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in researching, writing, and editing articles for both print and digital platforms.
  • Coordinate with writers, photographers, and designers to ensure timely delivery of content.
  • Manage and update editorial calendars, ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Support the editorial team in fact-checking, proofreading, and copyediting content.
  • Assist in brainstorming and developing story ideas for upcoming issues.
  • Monitor industry trends and competitor publications to identify new content opportunities.
  • Help manage social media accounts, including drafting posts, scheduling content, and engaging with followers.
  • Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, organizing documents, and maintaining editorial archives.
  • Attend and report on industry events, interviews, and press conferences as needed.
  • Collaborate with the marketing and sales teams to promote content and drive engagement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, English, or a related field.
  • 1-2 years of experience in editorial, journalism, or digital media (internships count).
  • Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Familiarity with AP Style and Chicago Manual of Style.
  • Basic knowledge of content management systems (CMS) and social media platforms.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Passion for media, storytelling, and staying up-to-date with industry trends.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace.
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign) is a plus.
