Territory Account Executive, Retail - Clifton, NJ
About the role
Toast is expanding its POS platform into new food and beverage verticals such as convenience stores, grocery stores, and bottle shops. As a Retail Account Executive, you will join a founding team to launch the Toast Retail platform, helping transform how these businesses operate. Using a consultative approach, you will prospect, build relationships, and sign new accounts by developing customized solutions that drive their success.
Responsibilities
- Use a consultative approach to prospect, build relationships, and sign up new convenience stores, grocery stores, and bottle shops
- Generate lists of prospective businesses and manage the entire sales cycle from initial outreach to close
- Conduct demos and develop tailored solutions that meet prospect needs
- Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure expectations set during the sales process are met in delivery
- Leverage Salesforce (our CRM) to manage all sales activities
- Analyze the competitive landscape to position Toast effectively in the market

- Proven track record of success in meeting and exceeding goals

- Lives in or near the assigned market and willing to travel 25% or more

Pay
The estimated Total Targeted Cash compensation range for this role is $148,000—$237,000 USD. Total Targeted Cash includes base salary, commission, and bonus (if eligible). This role qualifies for uncapped commissions. The starting salary will be determined based on skills, experience, and geographic location. In addition to cash compensation, total rewards include benefits and equity (if eligible).
