Terrain Park Manager

  • Team Leadership & Supervision: Hire, train, schedule, and supervise all terrain park staff. Provide ongoing feedback, performance evaluations, and direction to maintain a motivated, safety-conscious team.
  • Park Maintenance & Risk Management: Oversee the daily maintenance and inspection of all freestyle terrain features. Ensure risk management standards are met and all signage, rope lines, takeoffs, and features are safely maintained.
  • Feature Design & Construction: Lead the design, fabrication, installation, and grooming coordination of terrain park features, including rails, boxes, jumps, and other snow elements.
  • Guest Interaction & Safety: Provide exceptional guest service, promote safe freestyle practices, and respond professionally to guest concerns or incidents.
  • Interdepartmental Collaboration: Coordinate with grooming, lift operations, events, ski patrol, and other departments to support resort-wide initiatives and park-specific needs.
  • Event Support & Park Culture: Assist with planning and execution of park-specific events, competitions, and promotional projects that engage guests and enhance resort branding.
  • Administrative Duties: Maintain accurate labor timecards, complete park logs, ensure documentation of inspections, incident reports, and feature changes.
  • On-Mountain Operations: Be a working member of the terrain park team as needed, including hands-on maintenance and skiing/riding to access all terrain park zones.

Skills Preferred:

  • - Leadership & Team Management: Proven ability to supervise, motivate, and develop staff in a physically demanding and fast-paced environment.
  • - Park Operations Knowledge: Strong understanding of terrain park construction, freestyle terrain risk management, and resort safety protocols.
  • - Communication & Guest Service: Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills. Ability to communicate clearly with staff, management, and guests in both routine and high-stress situations.
  • - Technical Ability: Skilled with hand tools, basic electrical tools, and terrain park maintenance equipment.
  • - Skiing/Riding Proficiency: Must be able to ski or snowboard proficiently at an intermediate/advanced level across all terrain to access park features.

Education/Experience:

  • A high school diploma or GED is required for this role. Candidates should have a minimum of two years of experience working in terrain park operations or a comparable outdoor leadership position. Previous supervisory experience is highly preferred, particularly in a snowsports or ski area setting. Familiarity with freestyle terrain design, feature construction, and risk management practices is essential. Additional experience operating around snowcats, snowmobiles, or working in coordination with grooming and ski patrol teams is beneficial. College-level coursework, trade certifications, or specialized training in outdoor recreation, construction, or resort operations are considered a plus.
