About the role
Termite Technicians use their expertise to play a role in protecting customers' properties from wood-destroying organisms. As a Termite Technician, you are the first line of defense in preserving and safeguarding customers' properties. The inspections, prevention, and treatment services that you provide will create peace of mind and comfort for our customers.
Responsibilities
- Identify customer’s termite problems and have knowledge of termite behaviors and habits to determine remedial steps
- Perform termite treatment services safely and according to company guidelines and standard practices
- Apply anti-termite treatments to structures according to schedule, safety procedures, and label instructions
- Communicate to the customer critical conditions that are conducive to termite activity; discuss procedures and structural modifications which may be supplemental to the treatment process
- Verify that job specifications are appropriate for each work order
- Operate and maintain service vehicles and equipment
- Complete production forms documenting services provided
- Interact with customers and explain services provided
Essential Job Functions
- Tolerate a variety of environmental conditions, including seasonal weather, damp and/or dusty locations
- Prepare the job site for treatment
- Enter and exit structures and crawl spaces; climb over and on top of structures; ascend and descend stairs and ladders
- Work comfortably 20 feet up on a ladder and in small confined spaces
- Perform general labor tasks; carpentry, cement, roofing, gutter, and attic experience is a plus
- Work on roofs and high areas
- Engage in physical activity including regularly sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling, up and down stairs, ladders, scaffolding, ramps, and poles
- Wear personal protective equipment (PPE), like an OSHA-compliant respirator, and work in confined spaces, narrow aisles, or passageways
Requirements
- Clean-shaven face for safety reasons (rebreathers must be able to seal your face)
- High school diploma or GED
- At least 1 year of customer service experience; termite control experience is a plus
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn
- Flexibility with working hours, including Monday-Friday and Saturdays as needed
- Licenses/certificates as required by federal, state, and/or local regulations (covered by us)
- Basic math skills: add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; ability to follow mixing instructions on product labels
Pay
Base pay range: $18.00 - $23.00 per hour. Starting pay may vary based on factors like geographic location, skills, education, and experience. Total earnings may also be affected by overtime, incentives, commissions, performance, and route assignment.
