Terminal Operator 2A

About the role

Unload grain and grain by-products from trucks. Open gates and doors on trucks. Must be able to distinguish different products and report any abnormalities to the supervisor. Perform all barge/deck hand duties safely. Operate the Compuweigh scale system accurately. Load barges individually and communicate with deck hands and control room personnel. Operate all control room functions, navigate grain to specified locations, operate bin sweeps in all grain tanks, and operate the grain dryer efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Follow instructions of Superintendent, Assistant or Lead
• Follow all LDC safety rules and procedures
• Ensure a clean work area, clean facility, and perform general maintenance (housekeeping)
• Wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE)
• Assist in all areas of the facility as needed

Requirements

• Knowledgeable and experienced in the use of hand tools, power tools, chain falls, com-a-longs, grinders, drill presses, table saws, etc.
• Able to lift and carry a minimum of 75 lbs.
• Able to work in dusty conditions
• Able to work frequently in inclement weather
• Able to work from ladders and scaffolds at heights above 6'
• Aware and attentive to surroundings which may include automatic starting conveyors, belts, and other moving machinery
• Able to climb, bend, kneel, squat, and crawl occasionally and stand and walk frequently
