Tenure-Track/Tenured: Assistant Professor or Associate Professor
Texas A&M University’s Department of Educational Psychology in the College of Education and Human Development seeks applications for a full-time, nine-month tenure-track/tenured Assistant or Associate Professor position in the APA-accredited School Psychology Program (SPSY), beginning August 1, 2027.
About the Role
We seek applicants with an established and fundable programmatic line of research that contributes significantly to the areas of mental health and/or working with culturally and linguistically broad populations. The successful applicant will join a team of nationally recognized faculty with a record of external funding to support their research and outreach activities. The program and department are especially interested in qualified candidates who can contribute to the excellence of the academic community through their research, teaching, and service.
The School Psychology Program is housed in the Department of Educational Psychology, along with programs in Counseling Psychology (APA-accredited); Special Education; Bilingual/ESL Education; Research, Measurement, and Statistics; and Developmental Sciences. The program also has strong ties with Texas A&M University’s Psychology Department and the School of Public Health.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a coherent and productive program of research that will impact mental health and the profession of school psychology
- Maintain publication activity in high-quality journals
- Supervise graduate student research
- Seek and secure external funding to support research, personnel preparation, and/or outreach
- Provide professional service at state and national levels and institutional service at program, department, and school/college levels
- Teach, provide clinical supervision, and mentor undergraduate/graduate students
- Demonstrate commitment to exemplary teaching, research, and service
- Demonstrate commitment to collegiality and collaboration
Qualifications
- Earned doctorate (Ph.D.) in School Psychology, Clinical Psychology, Counseling Psychology, or a related field
- Licensure as a Psychologist or eligibility for licensure as a Psychologist in Texas
- Evidence of, or potential for, developing significant research and quality publications
- Evidence of success or strong potential for securing external research funding
