Tenure Track Associate or Full Professor - Program Director in Clinical Mental Health Counseling
The Creighton University College of Arts and Sciences invites applications for a full-time, 11-month tenure track Professor or Associate Professor to serve as the Program Director for a new Program in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.
About the role
The Program Director will provide visionary leadership and administrative oversight for the initiation, development, and implementation of a new clinical mental health counseling graduate program. Key responsibilities include leading the program through the CACREP accreditation process, coordinating program resources, mentoring faculty, and fostering collaborations across Creighton’s relevant schools and colleges.
Responsibilities
- Lead the program through CACREP accreditation process
- Mentor counseling program faculty
- Nurture collaborations across Creighton’s relevant schools and colleges
- Engage in professional associations and with businesses and the local community
- Maintain a strong presence on Creighton’s Omaha campus
Requirements
- A Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision from a CACREP Accredited program
- Experience overseeing/leading/supporting the CACREP accreditation process
- Strong clinician identity with experience practicing as a Licensed Professional Counselor
- Currently licensed in Nebraska, or ability to obtain licensure in Nebraska
- Experience providing clinical supervision
- Significant experience teaching in a CACREP Accredited Clinical Mental Health Program
- Well-established record of research, with multiple scholarly presentations and publications aligned with what would be expected of a tenure track faculty at the rank of associate professor or professor
- Experience with online and technology-enhanced instruction
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience developing certificate programs or other curriculum or program development
- Involvement in multi-disciplinary teams
- Experience overseeing program staffing and scheduling
- Experience collaborating with enrollment management teams in coordinating outreach to prospective students

Benefits
The successful candidate will be well-supported in a collaborative environment in the College of Arts and Sciences, working within the Department of Education and their multiple programs. While the program will be primarily online, the Program Director will be required to maintain a strong presence on Creighton’s Omaha campus.
Pay
The salary range for this position is $70,000 - $90,000 annually.
Schedule
The Program Director will work a full-time, 11-month schedule.
