Job Responsibilities
The person hired for this position will provide classroom instruction primarily in biomechanics but must also be able to teach other Exercise Science courses such as assessment and prescription and research methods. This individual will also be expected to fulfill other academic duties including conducting research appropriate to the teacher-scholar model, academic advising, mentoring of student research and other co-curricular experiences, and provide service to the University and community.
Required Qualifications
- Earned doctorate in Exercise Science, or similar area (DPT, OTD, and related degrees included). by start date of employment.
- Teaching effectiveness or the potential for teaching effectiveness in exercise science and other related areas.
- Experience or willingness to teach biomechanics.
- Evidence of scholarly productivity, or the potential to be a productive scholar.
- Commitment to liberal arts and sciences education as a teacher-scholar.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous successful college/university teaching experience.
- Demonstrated potential for mentoring undergraduate research.
- Demonstrated potential for developing critical thinking and problem-solving skills in students.
- Demonstrated potential for scholarly activity beyond the thesis or dissertation.
- ACSM EP-C Certification.
