Tenure or Tenure Track Professor of Law

Campbell University School of Law invites applications for up to three full-time, entry-level or lateral, tenured or tenure-track faculty positions at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or full Professor to begin in August 2027. These are nine-month academic appointments.

Responsibilities

• Cooperate with other designated faculty to implement a coordinated curriculum, inclusive of learning objectives
• Develop and manage course materials from learning objectives and recommendations from Associate Dean and/or Curriculum Committee
• Administer tests, assignments, and other exercises that measure knowledge, abilities, and/or performance relative to course learning objectives
• Maintain effective and timely communications with students and staff
• Provide students with individual feedback on assessments
• Administer exams according to Law School guidelines
• Complete student record keeping and submit grades in a timely and accurate manner
• Participate in departmental, faculty, and staff meetings as requested
• Uphold and abide by Campbell University policies and procedures, including Title IX and Information Security (e.g., FERPA and other state and federal mandates)
• Other job-related duties, responsibilities, and activities may be assigned at any time with or without notice

Requirements

• J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school with excellent academic credentials
• At least two years of substantial law practice experience in the United States, ideally in the area of curricular needs (particularly Torts, preferably Remedies)
• Demonstrated potential for excellence in teaching and scholarship
• Exceptional collegiality and cooperative spirit
• Commitment to supporting all five of the Campbell Law distinctives

• Knowledge of Blackboard and web-based applications
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and digital communication methods (e.g., web conferencing, web/text chat)
• Familiarity with administering social media platforms
• Ability to exercise independent judgment in complex, new, or stressful situations
• Strong project management skills, including managing multiple concurrent projects and meeting deadlines
• Adaptability, flexibility, and willingness to work in a changing environment
