The Hawaii Pacific Section of the USTA is seeking a Mobile Teaching Professional to provide tennis instruction for the Play and Learn program.

About the role

The Hawaii Pacific Section is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to promoting tennis opportunities for all, particularly juniors and adults of all abilities and backgrounds.

Responsibilities

  • Provide tennis instruction for the Play and Learn program.
  • Teach all ages and abilities, including private, semi-private, and group lessons.
  • Facilitate instruction in a positive and safe environment.
  • Communicate with students and staff daily, handle rainouts, cancellations, and other inquiries.
  • Maintain, retain, and grow the student base.
  • Attend training for professional development.
  • Do not teach on public tennis courts without a permit.

Requirements

  • High school degree required, and college preferred.
  • Proficient computer skills required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to play tennis at an NTRP level of 4.5 or higher.
  • Ability to teach group tennis lessons outdoors.
  • Preferred USTA Coaching, RSPA, or PTR certified at a Development Coach level or higher.
  • Transportation is required, and willingness to travel to different locations.
  • Able to build contacts and maintain good rapport with the community.

Qualifications

  • High school degree required, and college preferred.

Schedule

The schedule is flexible and will be provided by the Community Tennis Director.
