About the role
EquiTrust Life Insurance Company is a national carrier of competitive, client-friendly annuity products sold through various distribution channels. The role is located in West Des Moines, Iowa, mostly off-site.
What You'll Do
- Partner with business units and IT teams to gather, clarify, and document business and system requirements
- Analyze business processes, system issues, and change requests; recommend practical, effective solutions
- Serve as a liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams to coordinate system updates and enhancements
- Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and testing strategies to ensure solutions meet business requirements
- Support project planning activities, including defining test objectives, tracking progress, and coordinating testing efforts
- Investigate and resolve production processing issues to improve efficiency and workflow
- Absorb and train end users and new employees on system processes and procedures
- Contribute to team and company goals by fostering collaboration and a positive, inclusive work environment
- Take initiative on additional responsibilities that support departmental and organizational objectives
What You'll Bring
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, Business, or a related field preferred
- Experience: Business analyst experience required based on education level; High School Diploma: 6+ years, Associate’s Degree: 4+ years, Bachelor’s Degree: 2+ years; Minimum 2 years of experience in insurance or financial services required; Experience with life insurance or annuity business processes and insurance systems preferred
- Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: Working knowledge of Agile methodologies and experience supporting Agile teams; Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail; Experience developing and executing test plans and test cases; Ability to translate complex business needs into clear documentation and technical requirements; Strong written and verbal communication skills; Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment; Self-motivated, organized, and accountable with a strong sense of ownership; Ability to build effective working relationships across departments; Willingness to learn new systems, tools, and processes
