Temporary Warehouse Associate - Hand Packing

About the role

Oversee the efficient implementation of quality standards, programs, and processes to improve operational efficiencies and reduce/eliminate production waste and spoilage. Support environmental programs established within the organization, including recycling office waste and initiating power conservation techniques. Proactively look for ways to reduce negative impacts on the environment.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for all aspects of food safety and quality, as defined in plant and department procedures.
• Perform production duties such as manual lifting, packaging, taping, banding, and sorting.
• Report defective materials or questionable conditions to the department lead.
• Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
• Follow department SOP and GMP guidelines.
• Understand and follow basic verbal and written instructions.
• Possess basic mathematical skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements

• Requires the ability to stand for long periods of time.
• Involves repetitive motion.

• Requires the use of hands/fingers to handle or feel consistently.
• The ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl is seldom required.
• Requires the ability to lift and/or carry weight up to 60 pounds.
• The ability to push/pull weight up to 60 pounds.

Work Environment

• Noise level in the work environment is high.
• Temperature is 37 – 40 degrees Fahrenheit.
• Experiences consistent interruptions during the day.
• Occasional requirement to work overtime.
• Ability to wear personal protective equipment such as hearing protection, safety shoes, hair nets, safety vests, and bump caps.
• Ability to work in an open and collaborative environment.

Schedule

Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM.
