Temporary Title I - Kindergarten Instructional Assistant - Ratcliffe Elementary

Location: Federal Programs - Henrico County Public Schools, 5915 Nine Mile Road, Henrico

This is a temporary, hourly position working no more than 29 hours per week. Schedules are assigned by the building principal. Pay: $19.36 per hour.

About the Role

Under the guidance of the classroom teacher, the Instructional Assistant provides essential support with the implementation of the instructional program.

Responsibilities

• Provides one-on-one instruction or tutoring with students
• Provides behavioral support to students
• Assists with classroom management and behavior modification
• Assists with field trips, community-based instruction, and other activities
• Assists students with personal care tasks
• Assists with creation, organization, and distribution of instructional materials
• Reports student concerns directly and promptly to the teacher and assists with student resolution
• Assists with breakfast, lunch, and snack, including clean-up
• Performs other duties as assigned
• Regular attendance is required

Requirements

• Must hold a high school diploma or equivalent
• Sixty semester hours of college credit or passing scores on the ParaPro Assessment preferred

Applicants considered for employment must successfully complete the following background investigations/tests: Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Criminal History Investigation, State Police Criminal History Investigation, Child Protective Services (CPS) Investigation, and Tuberculosis Screening/Test.
