About the role
Danville Community College seeks high school students to serve as summer interns. Opportunities may be available in the following departments/divisions: Academic Affairs, Student Services, Workforce Services, Finance and Administration.
Responsibilities
- Opportunities may be available in the following departments/divisions: Academic Affairs, Student Services, Workforce Services, Finance and Administration.
- This is a temporary position with a scheduled end date of 08/07/26.
- Applicant review will begin immediately.
- May be required to perform other duties as assigned.
- May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.
Requirements
- The ability to work with a diverse faculty, staff and student population.
- The ability to read, write, understand and follow instructions.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Exceptional level of customer service, organizational skills, multi-tasking, time-management and professionalism.
- The ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
- The ability to lift objects as needed.
- Basic computer skills.
- Microsoft Office expertise.
Qualifications
- Knowledge, training, and experience in area of interest.
- The ability to operate a State Vehicle.
- No supervisory responsibilities.
- Some local travel may be required during work hours, as needed.

Pay
$13.50 per hour.
Schedule
These are face-to-face positions in various departments/divisions of the College campus. Specific hours may vary based on college’s needs, with a maximum of 29 hours per week. A 30-minute break is required after 5 consecutive hours worked. Candidates under the age of 16 must provide a Youth Employment Certificate.
