About the role
STEM Institute at Florida International University (FIU) is seeking a Temporary STEM Administrative Assistant.
Responsibilities
- Supporting office staff in general departmental administrative duties.
- Aid in the coordination of departmental functions.
- Perform general administrative tasks such as basic data entry, organizing documents, and making copies.
- Communicate with faculty and students to follow up on necessary documentation.
- Assist with participant payments, gather required information, and prepare invoices for submission.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED and 2 years of experience; or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
- Ability to work in a team setting.
- Intermediate level of Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Knowledge of PC operations and specialized software.
- Ability to take direction and work independently.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive information.

Benefits
Under the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA), a temporary employee who works on average 30 hours or more per week may be eligible to enroll in health care benefits. As a temporary employee, you are also eligible to enroll in supplemental plans (e.g. dental, vision), which requires full payment on your part. Upon completing an assignment, employees may apply for a position on FIU Careers.
Pay
$15.00 per hour.
Schedule
Monday - Friday.
