Temporary SREP Broward 2026 Assessment Specialist

About the role

The Center for Children and Families (CCF) at Florida International University announces summer positions for PreK-12 regular and special education teachers, with a preference on Bachelor's or higher level individuals in Education/Special Education, Psychology/Mental Health, or related field, with field experience in working with children in school, after-school, or summer settings for the 2024 Summer Reading Explorers program funded by The Children's Services Council.

Responsibilities

• Implement evidence-based small-group literacy instruction to rising kindergarten, first grade, and second grade students throughout Broward County.
• Coordinate and complete assessments with team;
• Enter data into REDCap;
• Generate score reports for site providers and supervisors using Excel;
• Congratulate parents with assessment results.

Requirements

• High School Diploma and 1 year of experience in subject areas or equivalent combination of education/experience.
• Bachelor's or higher level individuals in Education/Special Education, Psychology/Mental Health, or related field, with field experience in working with children in school, after-school, or summer settings.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of graduate level (Master's or Doctoral) supervised assessment experience and field experience working with children in school, after-school, or summer settings.
• Working knowledge of data entry and generation of Excel spreadsheet reports.
• Assessment experience in reading and other standardized tests (e.g., Peabody Picture Vocabulary Test) is strongly preferred.

The salary for this position is $7,644.44 for the summer.

Schedule

Employment will begin tentatively June 10th, 2023, and end in conjunction with BCPS calendar. Assessment Specialists will work a minimum of 8 hours per day, Monday through Friday.
