Job Summary

The Registered Nurse leads the health care team, providing professional nursing care according to established standards, policies, and procedures. The role adheres to Kaiser Permanente’s Vision, Mission, and Strategic Plan.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Upholds Kaiser Permanente’s Policies and Procedures, Principles of Responsibilities, and applicable state, federal, and local laws.

  • Serves as a leader of the health care team; delegates tasks appropriately, and demonstrates accountability.

  • Understands and supports the scope of practice of the team and escalates issues as necessary.

  • Demonstrates professional, supportive behavior and champions new ideas.

  • Participates in problem identification and resolution; mentors, orients, and coaches others.

  • Complies with regulatory requirements, policies, procedures, and standards of practice.

  • Develops and/or contributes to the individualized plan of care that reflects assessment, planning, implementing, and evaluating the outcomes of that plan.

  • Maintains a clean, orderly, and functional work environment and treats all families of patients with courtesy, respect, kindness, and compassion.

  • Provides an optimal patient care experience by actively listening to the needs of patients and family members and taking responsibility for meeting those needs.

  • Works every other weekend and some holidays.

Experience

  • Minimum one (1) year recent (within the last 3 years) full-time equivalent experience in Emergency Department.

  • No formal education required.

  • Registered Nurse License (California).

  • Basic Life Support and Pediatric Advanced Life Support certifications are preferred.

Additional Requirements

  • This is a temporary seasonal position, non-benefited with a commitment duration of 5 months from date of hire.

  • Will be required to work every other weekend and some holiday.
