Position Summary
This is a TEMPORARY position within our Temporary Office of the President Staffing (TOPS) program.
Key Responsibilities
- Data analysis, research, and tracking; project coordination
- Organizing ad hoc committee and working group meetings, compile background materials
- Providing administrative and executive support
- Preparing project summaries, status reports, slide decks, and executive briefing packets
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related field (or equivalent experience) plus 2–3 years of professional administrative and analytical experience
- Proficiency with standard office suites (Microsoft Office/Google Workspace), data tracking software, and document management systems
- Solid written and verbal communication skills; ability to gather data, analyze basic policy problems, and write concisely
- Demonstrated multi-tasking skills, attention to detail under deadlines, and sound judgment in handling confidential information
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience within higher education, state systems, or large public institutions
- Experience assisting with project management and working group coordination
- Ability to prioritize issues according to urgency and maintain flexibility in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment
- Advanced written skills to independently formulate responses to inquiries from high-level stakeholders and distill complex policy language
- Advanced proficiency in collaborative work management systems (e.g., Box, Google Workspace) and content management platforms (e.g., Cascade CMS)
- Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain complex databases and centralized information repositories to support executive operations
Education
Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training.
Special Conditions
This position is eligible for a hybrid work arrangement within the state of California. The selected candidate must reside within the state of California, or be willing to relocate, and will be required to report to work in person in Oakland, CA on a regular schedule.
Pay
Budgeted hourly range: $42.57
