Temporary Pre-College Tutor (Grade 4th to12th) - SAS
About the role
Student Access and Success Department at Florida International University (FIU) is seeking a Temporary Pre-College Tutor (Grade 4th to 12th).
Duties
- Serve as tutor to middle & high school students in-person and online.
- Ability to take direction and work independently as needed.
- Complete session feedback at the completion of each tutoring session.
- Communicate with Coordinators & Director as needed, based on the progress of students.
- Attend all required meetings.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma and 1 year of experience in subject areas or equivalent combination of education/experience.
- Desired qualifications include high reliability, good interpersonal communication skills, and ease in relating with students from varying educational and social backgrounds.
- Maintains professional skills and attitudes such as following policies, prioritizing, working safely, arriving promptly, attending regularly, maintaining a professional image, etc.
- Pursuing or have obtained a bachelor's degree in a related field.
- Previous tutoring or teaching experience.
- Patient and enjoys working with children.
- Ability to work evenings and weekends.
