REPORTS TO: Building Principal, Asst. Principal SUPERVISES: None FLSA Status: Hourly, Non-Exempt COMPENSATION: $17.13/hr without license or Degree $23.52/hr with license or degree WORK CALENDAR: 183 Days 10/27/2026 - 12/18/2026 STANDARD HOURS: 7.25 Hours/Day CORP STATUS: Classified PERF: CPCSC is a Non-PERF District Essential Functions Report to administrator or designee for daily scheduleBe flexible, as teacher absences will dictate the daily assignmentsBe professional at all timesFollow all school rules, procedures, and district policiesProfessional attire is expectedWhen assigned, assume the duties and roles of the regular classroom teacherSupervise and manage the classroom, including student disciplineSupervision of students outside of the classroom during the school day as directed by administration administrationImplementation of lesson plans left by the teacher to maximize academic time and motivate students to be engaged learnersAssign tasks and homework according to the daily lesson plan providedCreate a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity level and interests of the studentsTake all precautions to protect equipment, materials, and facilitiesFoster a safe and positive classroom environment. Ensure appropriate constant student supervision and assure the health, welfare, and safety of studentsReport injuries, accidents, and issues to the school nurse or administrationThe permanent substitute teacher position may be a single classroom or in multiple assignments within a day Qualifications Possess a Substitute Teacher Permit issued by the Indiana Department of Education or hold a valid Indiana Teachers LicensePrior experience working with students desiredA degree from higher education is preferred but not required. Must meet all Clark-Pleasant employee eligibility criteria
