Temporary Part Time Merchandise Associate

About the role

HomeGoods is seeking a team member who will deliver a highly satisfied customer experience by engaging with all customers, embodying customer‑experience principles, and maintaining a clean and organized store environment. The role adheres to operational, merchandise, and loss‑prevention standards and may be cross‑trained to support multiple areas of the store.

Responsibilities

• Engage and interact with customers to ensure a highly satisfied experience.
• Maintain a clean and organized store environment.
• Adhere to all operational, merchandise, and loss‑prevention standards.
• Cross‑train and work in multiple store areas as needed to support business needs.
• Model established customer‑experience practices with internal and external customers.
• Support a positive store culture through honesty, integrity, and respect.
• Accurately ring purchases/returns and count change according to operating procedures.
• Promote credit and loyalty programs.
• Uphold merchandising philosophy and follow established merchandising procedures and standards.
• Process and prepare merchandise for the sales floor following company procedures.
• Initiate and participate in store recovery throughout the day.
• Maintain organizational, cleanliness, and recovery standards for the sales floor and the entire store.
• Provide and accept recognition and constructive feedback.
• Adhere to all labor laws, policies, and procedures.
• Support and participate in store shrink‑reduction goals and programs.
• Participate in safety awareness and maintain a safe environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule to support business needs.
• Strong communication and organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Capability to multi‑task.
• Ability to respond appropriately to changes in direction or unexpected situations.
• Capability to lift heavy objects with or without reasonable accommodation.

• Retail customer experience preferred.

Pay

This position has a starting pay range of USD $14.50 to $15.00 per hour. Actual starting pay is determined by a number of factors, including relevant skills, qualifications, and experience.
