Core Capabilities, Primary Duties, And Responsibilities

  • Provide support during garment fittings for upcoming productions
  • Attend all shifts in person as scheduled by shop management
  • Hand stitch and machine stitch garments, utilizing various machinery as needed
  • Follow all fitting notes documents, paying close attention to shop management’s instructions

Qualifications

  • 1 or more years of experience in patternmaking
  • 3 years of professional experience in costume construction, stitching, and alterations
  • Knowledge of current techniques, materials, and repertoire relevant for theatrical costuming
  • Able to follow guidance from leaders throughout the production process

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Arts or higher, or equivalent professional experience
  • Professional experience in one or more of the following areas: tailoring, historical costuming, couture stitching, draping
  • Experience in an academic environment/working with students or young professionals

Work Mode

  • This position is primarily in-person and is based on campus to support effective in-person collaboration and engagement.
  • Some nights and weekends may be required.
  • Costume Shop hours are 10:00am-5:00pm Monday through Friday.
  • Schedule adjustments may be made due to external venue time constraints when offsite.
