About the role
The Temporary Orientation and Mobility Specialist, Special Education (20% FTE) provides specialized instruction to students with visual impairments, including training to travel safely and independently. They also provide assessment and consultation services in their area of specialty and perform related Orientation & Mobility Specialist duties as assigned.
Requirements / Qualifications
- This is an itinerant position and may travel to more than one Special Education site on the same day.
- Licenses/Certificates: Possession of an appropriate California Educational Specialist Credential that authorizes service to students who are visually impaired.
- Experience and Training Guidelines: Any combination equivalent to experience and training that would provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities would be qualifying.
- Possession of a B.A. Degree supplemented by recent teaching experience including experience and/or training within the domain of the required credential.
