Responsibilities
The Department of Chemical Engineering and Materials Science at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities occasionally needs to hire employees on a temporary basis throughout the year. These positions perform a variety of non-academic and/or academic work responsibilities on a temporary work schedule, as defined below:
- Limited to 67 or fewer days of work in a calendar year.
- Duties May Include, But Are Not Limited To (50%):
- Collaborate with departmental faculty and/or staff to facilitate ongoing projects
- Gather and analyze data
This does not constitute a posting for vacancies but establishes a pool of applicants should openings occur during FY27 (July 2026 - June 2027). Applicants will be selected from this pool on an as-needed basis. Appointments are based on need, funding, and performance.

Pay And Benefits
Pay Range: $15.25 - $55.25 per hour; depending on education/qualifications/experience.
