About the role

The Temporary Occupational Health Nurse (RN) will be an independent and organized member of the Safety team to provide clinical, health assessment, and preventive health services for the Peterbilt Denton Night shift employees. This is a temporary position expected to last less than 6 months.

Schedule

Monday through Thursday, 9:00 PM – 7:30 AM (4x10-hour schedule).

Pay & benefits

  • Hourly rate of $40–$45 plus 12% shift premium
  • Benefits including medical, dental, vision, paid vacation and holidays

Responsibilities

  • Treats minor illness or injury and provides immediate emergency care, coordinating with supervisor or consulting physician in arranging referral and transportation for additional medical care when necessary
  • Provides substance abuse screening
  • Maintains drug and medical supplies, issues protective equipment and maintains related medical records
  • Provides health education, counseling and support the delivery of the sites' preventive wellness services
  • Compiles accident statistics, maintains injury/illness logs, collects attendance data, and communicates with attending physicians as part of the disability management process and workers compensation
  • Timely response to completion of safety items, audit findings, employee concerns, and near misses
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • 1 year of nursing experience required
  • 1–3 years of clinical experience required with Occupational Medical experience preferred
  • Three years of safety experience preferred
  • Outstanding communication skills, influencing abilities, and customer service orientation
  • Ability to work with employees and managers at all different levels of the organization
  • Demonstrated analytical and organizational skills, ability to work independently, prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Knowledge of OSHA, State, and Federal laws
  • Experience with MS Office

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing and current licensure as a registered nurse (RN)
  • Accredited CPR/AED/First Aid Trainer preferred
