Temporary Maintenance Assistant

Major Responsibilities And Critical Tasks

• Assist in inspections and repairs HVAC equipment cooling units, heading units, hot water systems, ventilation equipment and other standard equipment.
• Assist in repairs and installs drywall including mudding, taping, and sanding.
• Paints walls and ceilings as needed.
• Performs minor plumbing repairs, including unplugging, repairing, and replacing toilets, lavatories, sinks and replacing faulty gate and ball valves.
• Performs minor electrical repairs including replacing faulty outlets, switches, and other electrical apparatus.
• Affords assistance and follows maintenance standards.
• Performs general rough and finish carpentry as well as rough and finish concrete work.
• Performs general landscaping, yard work including mowing, cleanup, and other types of general yard work.
• Collaborates with nursing services when performing maintenance assignments in resident living and/or recreational areas.
• Completes administrative requirements (i.e., completing necessary forms, reports. Etc.) and submits to the facility Administrator, as necessary.
• Ensures an adequate supply of maintenance supplies is available to perform tasks.
• Ensures equipment is clean and safely stored at the end of the shift.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
