About the role

As a Temporary Lodging Assistant in the Office of Child Welfare, you will provide supervision, support, and care to children and youth in temporary lodging, maintaining a safe, stable, and family-like environment. This position plays a pivotal role in transforming the lives of vulnerable children by monitoring their safety, health, behavioral, and basic needs; following established care plans; transporting children to appointments and visits; documenting observations; and collaborating with caseworkers, families, resource parents, and service providers to support transitions and placements.

Responsibilities

• Provide supervision, support, and care to children and youth in temporary lodging, maintaining a safe, stable, and family-like environment.
• Monitor and support the safety, health, behavioral, and basic needs of children and youth, including meals, hygiene, clothing, medications, school, and appointments.
• Follow established safety, supervision, visitation, and care plans while responding appropriately to behavioral concerns, crises, and safety issues.
• Safely transport children and youth to school, appointments, visits, placements, and other approved activities.
