Temporary Grounds Maintenance

Description

The Temporary Grounds Maintenance's primary responsibilities will revolve around mowing and trimming grass areas. Work involves operating mowing equipment and power trimmers for 8 hours a day. This is a temporary, full-time position - approximately 600 hours. Hours will be from 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. until after Labor Day then 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Duties

• Mowing and trimming grass areas.
• Operates a variety of ground maintenance machines and equipment, including zero turn mowers, push mowers, power trimmers and small hand tools.
• Performs physically demanding labor in a variety of weather conditions.
• Able to constantly lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
• Picking up and discarding trash.
• Follows safety regulations and safety policies.
• Complies with work rules in the performance of duties.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
• Ability to exercise independent judgment and attention to detail in applying standards to work situations.
• Ability to exercise tact and courtesy in contact with the public.
• Driver’s license and good driving record.
• Some experience is preferred.

Supplemental Information

• The rate for this position is $18.00/hour.
• This position will earn 1 hour of paid time off for every 40 hours worked up to a maximum of 2 weeks.
• This position is not eligible for benefits.
