Temporary Dental Hygienist
Responsibilities
- Perform thorough and gentle prophylaxis to patients
- Perform scaling, root planing and selective polishing for patients as appropriate
- Administer local anesthetics, if allowed by dental practice act
- Place medicaments subgingivally for periodontal disease treatment
- Take radiographs of patients as prescribed by dentist
- Maintain a supply inventory for hygiene treatment
- Review, select and submit orders for patient education materials for the practice
Qualifications
- Current, valid licensure as a dental hygienist from the Colorado Dental Board
- Experience with EMR (electronic medical records), medical terminology a plus
- Recent experience working in a fast-paced dental environment
- Experience working with students and faculty in a higher education and/or academic medical environment
