Position Summary
The Warehouse Specialist performs a variety of warehousing duties including the following: verifying materials (or merchandise) against receiving documents, noting and reporting discrepancies and obvious damages, routing materials to prescribed storage locations. The Warehouse Specialist is also responsible for storing, stacking, or palletizing materials in accordance with prescribed storage methods, rearranging and taking inventory of stored materials, examining stored materials, and reporting deterioration and damage, removing material from storage and preparing it for shipment. Working in extreme climate change and operating equipment in tight enclosed space.
Essential Functions Of The Position
- Note and report discrepancies and obvious damages.
- Route materials to prescribed storage locations, storing, stacking, or palletizing materials in accordance with prescribed storage methods.
- Maintain accuracy and inventory items such, as but not limited to, materials, merchandise, stock.
- Examine stored materials and report deterioration and damage.
- Complete temperature checks as directed.
- Remove material from storage and prepare it for shipment.
- Operate hand or power trucks in performing warehousing duties.
- Keep records and compile stock reports.
- Ensure all requirements are processed accurately and timely.
- Use hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning, and moving materials, and manipulating things.
- Work in extreme climate change.
- Must be adaptable, flexible, and able to adjust to new or changing instructions.
- Must be able to multi-task and complete assignments accurately and on time.
- Must be able to maintain high standards of confidentiality.
- Must be willing to work flexible hours to accommodate requirements, sometimes under short notice, to include days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Overtime may be required.
- Employee must complete timesheets daily, ensuring accurate data, both manually and via required system.
- Must submit to and pass random drug and/or alcohol testing.
- Perform other duties in accordance with requirements as directed.
Minimum Qualifications
- Must possess and present a valid state Real I.D. Driver’s License.
- Must possess high school diploma or equivalent.
- Must be able to speak, write, read, understand English, and follow written/verbal directions.
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be able to certify and maintain certifications and licenses as required.
- Must be a self-starter; able to work as a team or independently, with limited supervision.
- Must be adaptable, flexible, and able to adjust to new or changing instructions.
- Must be able to multi-task and complete assignments accurately and on time.
- Must be able to maintain high standards of confidentiality.
- Must be willing to work flexible hours to accommodate requirements, sometimes under short notice, to include days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Employee must complete timesheets daily, ensuring accurate data, both manually and via required system.
- Must have warehousing experience.
- May be required to obtain a CAC.
Security Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be able to pass a National Criminal Background Check.
- Must pass the National Agency Background Check and obtain computer access.
