About the role
This is a temporary position in the Organizing Division, responsible for executing labor organizing activities within the Association.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate organizing campaigns by engaging nurses and healthcare professionals, facilitating informational meetings, forming in-house committees, and securing broad-based support.
- Monitor employer tactics for illegal violations and coordinate communication with union members, other unions, and employers.
- Represent the organization at pre-election conferences, oversee election processes, and assist certified units with bylaws and elections.
- Stay informed on NLRB rulings and healthcare labor issues; develop contacts across healthcare facilities.
- Act as a resource for programs, participate in staff meetings, board activities, and conventions, and assist with other assigned duties.
Requirements
- Experience in organizing preferred; advanced education in labor relations advantageous.
- Knowledge of the healthcare profession and leadership experience in local units desirable.
