TEMPORARY AEW2 - AUGUSTA PARK PRIMARY SCHOOL - ABORIGINAL COMMUNITY EDUCATION OFFICER (ACEO)

About the role

The Aboriginal Community Education Officer (ACEO) will support the school community in promoting an understanding and appreciation of Aboriginal culture and history.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement programs that enhance the cultural awareness of students, staff, and the broader school community.
• Collaborate with teachers to integrate Aboriginal perspectives into the curriculum.
• Facilitate workshops and events that celebrate Aboriginal culture and heritage.
• Maintain relationships with local Aboriginal communities to ensure culturally appropriate practices are followed.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Education or related field.
• Experience working with Aboriginal communities.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Qualifications

• Aboriginal background preferred but not essential.
• Valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation.

Skills

• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
