Temporary- Adult Education Program ESL Teacher (Pool)

About the role

Provide instruction for the ESL (English as a Second Language) component of the Adult Education Program in compliance with the TN DOL Adult Education Curriculum. Teaching responsibilities may include day, evening, or weekend classes on and off-campus, using various formats for delivery.

Responsibilities

• Plan, teach and evaluate student work in assigned ESL classes in compliance with the TN DOL Adult Education Curriculum.
• Aid with the administration and interpretation of students' scores on State approved examinations for student placement and instruction.
• Attend required meetings/training events as appropriate to the position.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Baccalaureate in Education or related field.
• A Tennessee Teacher's License is required unless an exception is approved by the Department of Labor and Workforce Development Division of Adult Education.
• Experience in teaching ESL.

Qualifications

• Experience working in an adult education environment.
• Familiarity with classroom technology.
• Familiarity with remote/virtual instruction.
• Computer skills in Microsoft Office.
• Analytical and organizational skills.
• Attention to detail.

Pay

Pay Rate: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour

Schedule

Part-time. Scheduled hours may vary depending on scheduling/student needs.
