About the role
Provide instruction for the ESL (English as a Second Language) component of the Adult Education Program in compliance with the TN DOL Adult Education Curriculum. Teaching responsibilities may include day, evening, or weekend classes on and off-campus, using various formats for delivery.
Responsibilities
- Plan, teach and evaluate student work in assigned ESL classes in compliance with the TN DOL Adult Education Curriculum.
- Aid with the administration and interpretation of students' scores on State approved examinations for student placement and instruction.
- Attend required meetings/training events as appropriate to the position.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Baccalaureate in Education or related field.
- A Tennessee Teacher's License is required unless an exception is approved by the Department of Labor and Workforce Development Division of Adult Education.
- Experience in teaching ESL.
Qualifications
- Experience working in an adult education environment.
- Familiarity with classroom technology.
- Familiarity with remote/virtual instruction.
- Computer skills in Microsoft Office.
- Analytical and organizational skills.
- Attention to detail.
Pay
Pay Rate: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
Schedule
Part-time. Scheduled hours may vary depending on scheduling/student needs.
