Temple Facilities Asst 2 (Full-Time) - Salt Lake City UT Temple

About the role

Temple Facilities Assistant 2 positions are available at the Salt Lake City, UT Temple. The Church seeks candidates who can provide a positive and uplifting experience for temple patrons and assist in the operation and maintenance of temple facilities.

Responsibilities

• Ensures the purity and accuracy of temple ordinances and makes them accessible to worthy Church members.
• Maintains and operates temples at standards set by the First Presidency.
• Operates, maintains, and repairs mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems and equipment.
• Serves complex water treating equipment for boilers and culinary water systems, and conducts water treatment tests.
• Servces and repairs laundry equipment, kitchen systems, and electronic systems.
• Maintains baptismal font filtering and water purification systems, ensuring proper pH control and chlorine content.
• Maintains electrical systems, including heavy industrial high voltage three phase wiring, conventional and electronic motor control systems, and lighting systems.
• Cleans, maintains, and repairs electronic systems, such as the Temple Recording System, TV terminals, printers, cable lines, and power supplies.
• Services and adjusts projection sound and communication systems.
• Makes necessary modifications to temple mechanical or electrical systems as needed.
• Participates in the preparation of the yearly facilities budget process, time-card submission, and FMAT project administration.

Qualifications

• Completion of 2 years of technical training in a skilled trade plus 4 years of experience in that trade.
• 2 years of experience in physical plant operations, including experience in skilled trades such as electrical, electronics, plumbing, welding, carpentry, painting, general construction, blueprint reading, mechanics, and floor coverings.
• Shop organization and inventory management skills.
• Rotates shifts and assignments while learning essential systems.
• Basic computer skills, and licenses as required by law.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds.
