Temple Facilities Assistant 2 (Full time) - Taylorsville UT Temple

About the Role

Ensures temple ordinances are kept pure, recorded accurately, and made available to worthy Church members by providing a positive and uplifting experience for patrons and maintaining temple facilities at standards established by the First Presidency. Assists in the operation and maintenance of temple physical facilities, including mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all computerized heating and air conditioning equipment and controls operate at maximum efficiency.
• Service complex water treating equipment for boilers, culinary water systems, and cooling tower systems; conduct water treatment tests to maintain proper pH, hardness levels, and conductivity.
• Service and repair laundry equipment.
• Maintain and repair kitchen systems, including dishwashers, refrigerators, freezers, ice makers, bread mixers, and other equipment to assure optimum operation.
• Maintain baptismal font filtering and water purification systems, water supply, mixer valves, and ensure proper pH control and chlorine content as specified by local codes.
• Maintain electrical systems, including industrial high-voltage three-phase wiring, conventional and electronic motor control systems, and lighting systems (110V, 277V, and 24V three-way lighting).
• Clean, maintain, and repair electronic systems, including the computerized Temple Recording System, TV terminals, printers, cable lines, and power supplies.
• Service, adjust, and repair projection, sound, and communication systems.
• Make necessary modifications to temple mechanical or electrical systems as needed.
• Participate in the preparation of the yearly facilities budget process, time-card submission, and FMAT project administration.

Requirements

• Completion of 2 years of technical training in a skilled trade plus 4 years of experience in that trade.
• 2 years of experience in physical plant operation, including experience in skilled trades such as electrical, electronics, plumbing, welding, carpentry, painting, general construction, blueprint reading, mechanics, and floor coverings.
• Shop organization and inventory management skills.
• Ability to rotate shifts and assignments while learning essential systems.
• Basic computer skills and any licenses required by law.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
