Tempering Operator/Assembly Line

About the role

This position involves unloading custom tempered glass at the Tempering unload. Proper glass handling techniques and minimal quality glass inspection are essential.

Responsibilities

• Near perfect attendance
• Read/measure glass accurately with tape measure
• Check glass quality and identify basic glass defects
• Place glass in correct Customer positions into bungees, harps and squeeze racks
• Avoid placing defective glass into bungees and squeeze racks
• Properly close finished orders
• Read and fill out proper unload paperwork (run list, packing maps)
• Set up customer orders properly
• Communicate with the QA and furnace operator regarding quality or breakage issues
• Never allow the line to get backed up with glass
• Possess a high sense of urgency

Requirements

• The ability to adhere to the company's policies, rules and regulations as set forth in the employee handbook
• Maintain and wear all required personal protective equipment and attend all safety meetings
• Physical demands: lift 50 pounds, bend, squat, kneel, twist, stand for long periods of time, stretching, pulling and pushing
