Temp Crane Operator-6

Joyce Steel Erection, Ltd., a member of the global industrial organization Marmon Holdings backed by Berkshire Hathaway, is seeking a temporary crane operator for an outage project.

Responsibilities

• Operate the crane under complete control and under supervision.
• Inspect the crane, all components, and hook‑lifting devices routinely and periodically to ensure safety for all involved.
• Perform routine maintenance and carry tools for repairs as needed.
• Understand and execute the job billing process.
• Travel the crane to and from job sites.
• Wear required personal protective equipment while performing work.
• Clean and maintain the crane and all components.
• Utilize manufacturers’ recommendations during assembly/disassembly, while erecting the crane, and while operating the crane in all configurations.
• Direct truck drivers and crane helpers during assembly/disassembly, crane set‑up, and scope of work.
• Mentor other crane operators, crane helpers, and related personnel.

Requirements

• Minimum Class A CDL driver’s license, maintained in good standing.
• NCCCO crane operator certification card for the specific size and type of crane being operated.
• Crane operator qualification evaluations for all sizes and types of cranes to be operated.
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations and ANSI standards related to crane and rigging services.
• Proficiency in oral and written communication.
• Successful completion of pre‑employment drug and alcohol screening, DOT physical, and a 7‑year background check.
• Ability to take direction from supervision.
• Capability to mentor other crane operators and helpers.
• Perform daily and monthly equipment inspections.
• Adherence to all safety, company, and customer policies and procedures.
• Clean driving record; ability to drive a haul truck and deliver loads.
• Maintain a logbook and record hours accurately.
