Responsibilities
- Work in conjunction with the Branch Manager/Designee to oversee the day-to-day operation of the teller line, ensuring compliance and procedural requirements are met by the entire team.
- Provide leadership, conflict resolution, and process improvements to the teller line.
- Engage and develop the entire teller team in sales activities by leading and coaching team members on how to identify sales opportunities and refer customers to appropriate platforms.
- Create and foster a cohesive team by promoting a positive work environment and maintaining a good working relationship with all bank personnel.
- Develop and utilize the skills and knowledge necessary for effective supervision of colleagues.
- Process all transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, transfers, cash checking, etc. in an accurate, efficient, and professional manner.
- Manage large amounts of branch cash, oversee vault management, and balance daily limits.
- Oversee teller outbound calling activities and make service calls as requested to assist in the onboarding of new customers.
- Utilize systems and reports to profile customers and provide leads to platform staff for additional products and services.
- Actively seek knowledge and understanding of products and services to assess and meet customer needs and to act as a resource to tellers.
- Act as a leader in demonstrating self-service channels to customers, including ATM, Online Banking, and Mobile Banking.
- Conduct monthly reports (Quality Assurance, Cash Audit, Teller Error, etc.) to ensure that branch operations are sound.
- Understand and adhere to all security, compliance, and retail banking policies and procedures; ensure tellers adhere to the policies and procedures within established guidelines and authority.
- Assume responsibility for additional reporting duties and responsibilities as required.
- Takes initiative in providing support for other departments in the bank and answers interoffice inquiries in an efficient and courteous manner.
Requirements
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Sales-oriented personality, with a positive approach to interactions with customers and team members.
- Excellent organization, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Ability to balance multiple priorities and work in a team environment.
- Ability to display and maintain a professional appearance.
- Ability to work within normal office requirements, with long periods of standing and continuous customer support.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Willingness and ability to work within a flexible work week, which may include weekends, as customer needs dictate.
- Ability to successfully complete all required onboarding, job-specific, compliance, regulatory, operational, and continuing education training programs within established timeframes.
