Teller (Part-Time) - Edinburg, TX

About the role

A Teller provides superior quality customer service and a positive banking experience for customers. They process transactions including cashing checks, receiving and processing deposits and withdrawals, making transfers, balancing teller drawers, and other assistance as requested, ensuring accurate and timely processing in accordance with established policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain a cash drawer, including posting deposits, withdrawals, transfers, loan payments, and cashing checks.
• Maintain accurate details of each transaction.
• Prepare daily general ledger entries.
• Perform vault functions, as necessary.
• Assist with daily balancing of coin machine.
• Assist customers or potential customers with account or product inquiries.
• Balance teller drawer and verify accuracy of posted transactions.
• Promote the bank’s products and services; cross-sell bank products at every opportunity.
• Make a concentrated effort to solve customer problems.
• Promote and maintain positive relations with all contacts, customers, and potential customers.
• Support and promote the Bank’s vision, mission, and core values, organizational structure, and policies and procedures.
• Comply with federal and state regulations as well as all established Bank policies and procedures.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or G.E.D. and at least six (6) months prior experience in the retail industry.
• At least six (6) months of cash handling experience.
• Strong customer relations and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in typing, PC, 10-key calculator, and ability to handle large quantities of currency.
• Good problem-solving skills, solid decision-making, effective communication, prioritization, and organization of work activities.
• Ability to handle frequent interruptions and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Mental concentration and ability to work under high-pressure situations while remaining composed.
• Physical ability to stand for most of the workday and lift, carry, or move heavy boxes or bags of currency and coin weighing up to 25 pounds.
• Must be able to work flexible hours as scheduled Monday through Saturday.
• Must be able to be physically present in the Bank to perform job duties.
