Teller II

About the Role

The Teller II position is responsible for performing routine and intermediate branch and customer services duties, including accepting deposits, processing loan payments, cashing checks, and promoting the Bank's services by maintaining good customer relations.

Responsibilities

• Receives retail and commercial checking and savings deposits, ensuring all necessary documents are in proper form and issuing receipts.
• Cashes checks, savings withdrawals, and makes cash advances, verifying proper authorization and limits.
• Assists with night depository duties, including logging bags, processing deposits, and issuing receipts.
• May assist in opening and closing the vault daily, balancing vault currency and coin.
• Operates computer systems to process account activity, determine balances, and resolve problems within given authority.
• Issues official checks, traveler’s checks, and gift cards.
• Cross-sells the Bank’s products and services, referring customers to appropriate staff.
• Performs safe deposit duties, controlling access and assisting customers.
• Receives and processes stop payment and hold orders.
• Accepts loan, credit card, and installment payments.
• Balances cash drawer daily and verifies cash transactions with the vault.
• Provides effective customer service and assists in resolving problems.
• Records, files, updates information, and sorts mail or reports as required.
• Answers telephones and directs callers to proper Bank personnel.
• Processes teller work through branch capture and assists with imaging research.
• May gather data and process various reports (e.g., currency transaction, returned items, overdrafts, callbacks, etc.).
• Processes address changes, check orders, traveler’s checks, collections, change orders, and deposit slip corrections.
• Types routine letters, reports, and forms.
• Maintains files, copies and faxes documents, and orders and distributes supplies.
• Ensures security of Branch personnel and adheres to Bank procedures, including opening/closing and other security protocols.
• May prepare and verify order of shipment of currency.
• Completes annual compliance courses and adheres to corporate policies, federal and state regulations, including the Bank Secrecy Act and Anti-Money Laundering Act.
• Adheres to Service Excellence standards and performs other duties as required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 3-5 years of Teller experience or equivalent work-related experience in reception or secretarial duties in a business environment.
• Intermediate knowledge of Bank operations, products, services, and related state and federal laws and regulations.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Intermediate skills in computer terminal and personal computer operation, including word processing, spreadsheet, and specialty software programs.
• Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to exercise self-control, diplomacy, and appropriate judgment in customer and employee relations.

Physical Demands/Work Environment

• Requires vision, hearing, speech, dexterity, and visual concentration.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Ability to stand, walk, sit, and use hands and fingers.
• Professional office environment with standard office equipment.
