Teller II
About the role
Provides quality service and develops long-term customer relationships. Receives and pays money to bank customers and maintains accurate record keeping of deposits, withdrawals, negotiable instruments, and other bank transactions. Assists customers over the phone as needed. Identifies customer needs for additional products and makes referrals to appropriate personnel.
Responsibilities
- Greets customers and handles paper and cash transactions including deposits, withdrawals, cashing checks, accepting loan payments, and sale of negotiable instruments.
- Assists in granting customers access to safe deposit boxes when necessary.
- Listens to customer needs to make appropriate referrals to other bank staff to promote products and services.
- Balances teller drawer at the end of each shift and completes other wrap-up tasks as necessary.
- Receives, researches, and resolves customer inquiries regarding checking and savings accounts.
- Assists in proofing transactions using back-counter capture.
- Records teller totals daily.
- Completes forms such as CTRs, SIRs, and other BSA reporting as required.
- Performs account and card maintenance, such as address changes, ordering or hot-carding cards.
- Assists in answering the phone when not serving another customer.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
Requires regular and reliable attendance, and the ability to work flexible hours, including weekends if the branch is open.
Requirements
- Full knowledge of personal and business banking products offered; initiative to stay updated on changes.
- Basic knowledge of banking regulations, procedures, and applicable bank policies.
- Understanding of general banking principles and regulations; willingness to participate in educational opportunities.
- Proficiency in basic math functions: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
- Skill in communicating courteously and professionally with clients and coworkers.
- Skill in operating computer terminals, printers, back-counter capture machines, coin machines, and copiers.
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
- Ability to assist in training new employees as needed.
- Ability to demonstrate accuracy and efficiency in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to function as a team player.
Qualifications
High school graduate or equivalent. Minimum of 6 months teller experience required. Completion of required training courses or equivalent job experience as outlined in the Teller Career Path Guidelines.

Pay
Hourly rate: $23 - $26.
