Responsibilities
- Perform limited transactional duties to serve members by receiving or paying out funds with a high degree of accuracy and efficiency using a computer.
- Provide basic cash receipt and payment services to members in accordance with credit union policies and procedures.
- Maintain accurate transactional records and balance each day’s cash drawer according to Teller Accuracy Guidelines.
- Refer members to Member Service Representatives to obtain product information and/or services that best meet their financial needs.
- Remain watchful for counterfeit monetary instruments.
- For Teller II: Serve as a mentor (teller trainer) for newly hired Teller I incumbents and assist with basic new member account opening processes.
- For Teller II: Explain ATM operations and online banking features.
- Recognize and act on referral opportunities to build member relationships by asking questions, making benefit statements, and emphasizing the benefits of talking to a specialist.
- Meet required referral goals.
Requirements
- Adherence to BSA, Privacy Act, and Elder Abuse reporting is required.
- Proficient written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to learn and apply procedures.
- Must be willing to report to different branch/work locations as needed and provide service through multiple channels, including branches and Interactive Teller Machines (ITMs).
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) – Required.
- Teller I: Six (6) months of cash handling, sales, customer service, or teller experience – Required.
- Teller II: Twelve (12) months of cash handling, sales, customer service, or teller experience – Required.

Pay
- Teller I: $15.00 - $19.92 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
- Teller II: $15.43 - $21.59 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
Physical Demands
- Regularly required to sit; use hands and fingers to handle objects, tools, keyboards, or controls; talk and hear.
- Occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, stoop, or kneel.
- Must regularly lift and/or move files and equipment up to 15 pounds and occasionally lift/move up to 25 pounds.
