About the role

The Teller at State Bank Financial serves as the primary point of contact for customers, handling a variety of transactions and maintaining a high level of customer service. This role requires a combination of excellent customer service skills, attention to detail, and adherence to compliance regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Welcomes customers with a warm smile and uses their name, providing exceptional service.
  • Processes transactions including checking, savings, loan, credit card, and money orders.
  • Maintains and balances cash drawers and vaults daily.
  • Identifies customer needs and recommends appropriate products or services.
  • Follows security and internal control procedures, reporting suspicious activities.
  • Performs duties such as currency verification, report auditing, and account management.
  • Trains new associates and explains policies and procedures.
  • May serve as a vault teller, performing additional duties like counting and sorting currency.
  • Manages customer portfolios, acquiring new customers, and increasing product usage.
  • Interviews customers for new accounts and consumer loans, ensuring compliance with regulations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent, with coursework in or degree in business and/or finance preferred.
  • Customer service experience required.
  • Ability to handle time pressures, multi-task, and prioritize requests.
  • Effective problem-solving and organizational skills.
  • Basic mathematical and computer skills.
