Duties And Responsibilities

  • Proactively look for opportunities to deepen and enhance existing relationships and establish new client relationships
  • Aid in all service-related issues
  • Process all new account transactions
  • Assist clients in choosing various accounts and financial services
  • Cross-sell Bank's products and services
  • Open, maintain, and close all account types
  • Promote business by providing exceptional quality customer service
  • Perform branch clerical duties as needed
  • Interview clients to obtain information and establish proper identification of new clients while determining needs
  • Aid clients in selecting various accounts, products, and financial services available from the Bank
  • Present cross-selling opportunities by applying professional sales techniques
  • Make decisions regarding the opening of new accounts, assigning account numbers, completing forms requiring client signatures, checking credit histories, accepting initial deposits, and preparing all documents and items pertaining to checking, savings, and certificate of deposit accounts for processing
  • Print temporary checks for use until ordered checks arrive, ensuring all client information is correct
  • Represent the Bank in various community, civic, and community reinvestment functions to further enhance the Bank’s image and develop additional business
  • Provide exceptional customer service by answering client questions, investigating and correcting errors, and resolving problems or other issues
  • Issue official checks
  • Perform safe deposit duties by opening accounts, controlling access, assisting clients, and processing affiliated reports (in certain locations)
  • Receive and process stop payment and hold orders
  • Present funds received from clients to tellers for initial deposits; determine funds availability and obtain receipts for clients
  • Process credit reports, wire transfers, credit card orders, address changes, check and deposit slip orders, and endorsement stamp orders
  • Answer telephones and direct calls to proper Bank personnel
  • Process debit card applications, card ordering, and file maintenance
  • Cross-train less experienced branch personnel
  • Prepare routine letters, reports, and forms
  • Aid with Teller duties as needed
  • Operate computer terminals or personal computers to process account activity, determine balances, and resolve problems within given authority

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Six (6) months of customer service related Teller experience
  • Knowledge of basic accounting
  • Training on federal and state consumer compliance laws
  • Ability to analyze and interpret various financial data
  • Good organizational skills
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience using Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Good data entry/keyboarding and math skills
  • Excellent customer service skills

Physical Requirements And Environmental Conditions

  • Sustained standing and sitting
  • Frequent typing using a keyboard and/or calculator
  • Occasional lifting of basic office files or equipment up to 20 lbs
  • Normal office environment with comfortable internal temperatures and low level noise
