About the Role
The Teller is responsible for providing quality member service, accurately processing counter transactions, and meeting established sales referral goals for Credit Union products.
Responsibilities
- Complete members' transactions at the teller window with accuracy, timeliness, courtesy, confidentiality, and professionalism. Time: 40%
- Meet established sales referral goals as assigned by Branch Manager. Time: 35%
- Open and close the branch and perform general account maintenance.
- Maintain and balance cash drawer, operate cash dispense machine, buy and sell cash to the vault, verify cash, and keep cash orderly. Time: 25%
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of one year cash handling experience preferred.
- Minimum of one year customer service experience required.
- Sales or referral experience with proven results.
- Valid driver’s license.
Skills

- Basic knowledge of math.
- Working knowledge of ten-key calculator, computer keyboard, and programs such as Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Internet.

Physical Demands
- Work involves standing for long periods and mobility throughout the Credit Union.
- Potential for eyestrain from reading computer screens.
- Manual dexterity critical when handling cash and working with Branch Services equipment.
- Increased workload during busy times may cause increased stress levels.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds when lifting coin bags.
Working Conditions
- Work is normally performed in a climate-controlled office environment.
- Exposure to extreme heat/cold, poor ventilation, fumes, and gases is limited.
- Noise level is moderate (computers, telephones, etc.).
- No known environmental hazards in normal performance of duties.
- Length of day is unpredictable; long hours may be required for deadlines or special meetings.
- Travel to branches within the region may be required.
