Teller/Banker (1604 & Bulverde)
About the Role
As a Teller/Banker, you will often deliver the very first impression of the credit union to our members (credit union lingo for customers). You will become an expert and champion of Security Service products and services to help our members reach their financial goals. You will build and nurture long-lasting relationships by promoting our checking and savings accounts, loans, credit cards, and insurance services, among others. You will only offer products and services that meet our members' needs and contribute to their financial success.
You will be a team player and support the credit union in becoming America's Best by meeting sales goals, proactively identifying cross-sell opportunities, and educating members on digital services available to them. You will provide "universal" service and will be cross-trained in both teller and banker functions to better serve our members, which means additional learning and growth opportunities for you.
Completes any other job-related duties needed to help drive to our Vision, fulfill our Purpose, and abide by our Organization’s Values.
Responsibilities
- Deliver exceptional first impressions and customer service to credit union members.
- Promote and sell Security Service products and services, including checking/savings accounts, loans, credit cards, and insurance.
- Build and nurture long-term member relationships by identifying and meeting financial needs.
- Meet sales goals and proactively identify cross-sell opportunities.
- Educate members on digital services and tools available to them.
- Perform both teller and banker functions through cross-training.
- Ask high-impact questions to uncover member needs they may not be aware of.
- Complete additional job-related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of two (2) years of retail banking, cash handling, customer service, and sales experience, or comparable experience.
- Customer-centric attitude with a focus on delivering great member experiences while maintaining strict confidentiality.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a goal-driven mindset.
- Proficiency in computer software including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to focus in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexible work schedule during normal business hours (no Sundays).
- May be required to travel to other branch locations for work and/or training.
Qualifications
At management discretion, you may be required to complete federal registration as a Mortgage Loan Originator (MLO) within 180 days of request, as required by the Secure and Fair Enforcement of Mortgage Licensing Act of 2008 (S.A.F.E. Act). If registered, you must:
- Maintain active registration and comply with all S.A.F.E. Act requirements.
- Provide your unique identifier and update the Registry with significant changes (e.g., name changes, legal/regulatory actions) within 30 days.
- Update employment and personal information in the Registry as required.
- Pass a background check against the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) Excluded Parties List (EPL), the HUD Limited Denial of Participation List (LDP List), and the Federal Housing Finance Agency's (FHFA) Suspended Counterparty Program (SCP) list.
- Maintain the ability to pass subsequent background checks against these lists and comply with all requirements.
