About the role

This position ensures customer satisfaction by providing quality service through processing a variety of cash and non-cash transactions while maintaining the security of cash and cash-equivalent items.

Responsibilities

• Represent Trustmark professionally and efficiently to ensure customer satisfaction during face-to-face or telephone interactions.
• Acknowledge and greet customers with a smile, using their name at least twice while processing deposits and withdrawals.
• Check for additional customer needs and express gratitude as they leave.
• Safeguard the bank’s assets and maintain a secure working environment by processing transactions accurately, securing large sums, and balancing the teller window daily.
• Adhere to bank guidelines, policies, procedures, and performance standards.
• Identify customer needs for additional products and services, refer them to appropriate sales staff, and complete documentation for all referrals to support business development.
• Process various transactions, including night drops, ATM deposits, collection items, wire transfers, foreign currency, credit card transactions, loan payments, money orders, traveler’s checks, and official checks.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school graduate or GED.
• At least six (6) months of customer service experience.
• Basic knowledge of math concepts and principles.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to process transactions accurately and efficiently.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Excellent customer service and sales skills.
• Professional appearance and mannerisms, with the ability to meet and greet the public in alignment with Trustmark’s service standards.
• Ability to recognize customer needs and make appropriate referrals.
• Ability to meet referral goals in a retail environment.
• Basic computer skills and the ability to learn internal technology systems to perform work tasks.
• Must pass a Teller Simulation test.
• Effective communication skills.
• Ability to handle daily lifting of boxed or bagged coins (weight may vary).
• Balancing experience preferred.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to sit for long periods while using a computer keyboard and/or mouse and viewing computer screens.
