About the role
Operates a customer service window to provide customers with exceptional service on a variety of transactions. Suggests solutions and options to customers and refers them to appropriate areas of the bank. Resolves customer problems, issues, or concerns in an accurate and efficient manner.
Responsibilities
- Develop a working skill set, strong knowledge of policies and procedures, and bank products/services available to customers.
- Establish accuracy and balancing skills by maintaining a balancing rate of 85% in accordance with the Retail Policies and Procedure manual.
- Demonstrate knowledge of Consumer Bank Customer Service Standards and offer exceptional customer service as expected in Customer Insight surveys, scored by Avannis.
- Apply knowledge of computer systems, service skills, product knowledge, and policies/procedures to execute operational excellence at the customer service window, including:
- Utilizing computer systems to properly identify customers, verify transaction authenticity, and complete steps to protect customers and the bank from fraud (e.g., verifying balances, placing holds, documenting identification).
- Accepting deposits, verifying endorsements, and issuing receipts.
- Accepting checks for cashing, identifying customers, verifying endorsements and balances, and/or referring customers to branch management for authorization.
- Accepting savings deposits and withdrawals and performing related duties.
- Providing additional customer services, including bank money orders and other services.
- Accepting various loan payments or other types of payments.
- Balancing cash drawer daily.
- Assisting in ATM balancing and settlement, where applicable.
- Assisting in vault balancing, as requested.
- Promote the bank’s services, answer questions regarding banking matters, and direct customers to other branch team members for specialized services.
- Identify customer needs through profiling to expand relationships.
- Contribute to branch goals and sales/service standards as outlined in the branch playbook and detailed by branch management.
- Execute professional sales and service behaviors aligned with the bank’s purpose, values, and core drivers.
- Use the Sales & Service Opportunity tool to track customers introduced to a banker.
- Provide services including night deposits, mail deposits, and safe deposit admittance, as needed.
- Maintain positive relationships with bank customers and contribute to branch growth by producing leads for the Personal Banker platform.
- Maintain good working relationships with all bank employees, demonstrating strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Attend and successfully complete training as needed (virtual, in-person, online BVS, etc.).
- Perform additional duties as required.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent basic academic education.
- One to two years of general experience and successful completion of the retail training program.
Physical Demands
- Operates a keypad device: 70% of the day.
- Operates electronic equipment: 10% of the day.
- Operates office equipment: 10% of the day.
- Standing: 2 hours per day in a straight position.
- Sitting: 5 hours per day in a leaning position.
- Routinely lifts up to 10 lbs., 2 times per day; maximum lift is 20 lbs., one time per day.

- Manual dexterity for typing and data entry: up to 40% of the business day.

Pay
Salary range: $16.00 - $22.56 per hour.
