We are looking for a personable and detail-oriented Teller to join a banking team in Charleston, South Carolina. This contract position is ideal for someone who enjoys working directly with customers, handling financial transactions accurately, and supporting daily branch operations.
Responsibilities
- Assist customers with everyday banking needs by providing courteous service and resolving routine account-related questions.
- Receive, count, and reconcile cash transactions with accuracy while maintaining proper drawer balances throughout the day.
- Process check-cashing requests, withdrawals, and deposit verification in accordance with branch procedures and risk controls.
- Support new account setup by guiding customers through required information and documentation steps.
- Review transactions carefully to confirm accuracy, completeness, and compliance with internal banking standards.
- Maintain organized records of daily financial activity and report discrepancies promptly to branch leadership.
- Contribute to smooth branch operations by prioritizing efficiency, accuracy, and a positive customer experience.
Requirements
- Previous experience in customer-facing banking, teller work, or cash-handling roles.
- Demonstrated ability to manage cash activity accurately and balance a cash drawer consistently.
- Working knowledge of common banking transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, and check processing.
- Experience assisting with account setup, account servicing, or transaction-related customer support.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify discrepancies and follow established procedures.
- Clear communication skills and a detail-oriented approach to customer service.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced branch setting while handling multiple transactions.
- Understanding of basic risk awareness and confidentiality practices in a financial environment.
