About the role
As a Teller at Indiana Members Credit Union, you will serve as the primary point of contact for members, ensuring a positive and efficient banking experience. Your role is critical in processing a variety of financial transactions accurately and securely, including deposits, withdrawals, and payments. You will maintain the integrity of cash handling procedures, adhere to regulatory compliance standards, identify members’ needs, and provide information about the credit union’s products and services to foster customer satisfaction and retention.
Responsibilities
- Process various member transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, loans, credit card cash advances, loan and credit card payments, money orders, cashier checks, and corporate checks.
- Cross-sell credit union products and update member accounts.
- Handle member problems and complaints, wire transfers, and complete payroll deduction and direct deposit forms.
- Access safe deposit boxes when applicable.
- Handle and maintain the security of large amounts of cash.
- Communicate with back-office departments for assistance and member requests.
- Open and close various types of accounts, certificates, etc.
- Create or order ATM/debit cards for members.
- Process stop payments and print statements and histories for members.
- Perform remote capture of checks.
- Balance cash drawer daily.
- Assist with night deposits and ATM deposits.
- Perform other branch duties, such as counting cash delivery, balancing ATMs, filing, maintaining a clean and organized teller area and branch, helping with "end of day" duties, and stocking the lobby with supplies.
Requirements
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Previous cash handling and customer service experience.
- Fluent in English.
- Basic computer and technology skills.
- Attention to detail, adaptability, flexibility, and organizational skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Honesty, accountability, and ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to stand or sit for extended periods and handle computer work for long durations.
- Ability to touch, feel, lift, operate, and control equipment and tools with hands.
- Reaching, carrying, and lifting up to 25 lbs.
Skills
- Proficiency in the credit union’s core system, CRM, and imaging (training provided).
Work Environment
- Retail branch setting.
- Minimal to no travel required.
